Leather Care, Made Simple

LEATHER CARE

A few gentle habits help full-grain leather stay supple, protected, and distinctly yours. Learn how to clean, condition, and store your BygoneMark pieces with confidence.

GOOD LEATHER. MINIMAL CARE.

Care Less. Enjoy It More.

Full-grain leather is made to be used. It does not need a complicated routine—just gentle cleaning, natural drying, and occasional conditioning when the surface begins to feel dry.

Small marks, color shifts, and a softer hand are normal signs of use. Care should protect the leather, not keep it frozen in its first-day appearance.

KNOW YOUR LEATHER

Different Finishes. Different Care.

Crazy Horse Leather

This waxed full-grain leather shows lighter marks when it bends or rubs. That pull-up effect is normal. Gentle rubbing with a clean finger or soft cloth can soften the appearance of minor marks.

Vegetable-Tanned Leather

Vegetable-tanned leather can deepen in color with light, handling, and conditioning. Keep care minimal, avoid over-wetting, and expect most conditioners to change the shade slightly.

Smooth Full-Grain Leather

Natural grain and subtle variation are part of the material. Wipe gently, avoid abrasive cleaners, and condition sparingly only when the surface feels dry.

A SAFE ROUTINE FOR EVERYDAY LEATHER

Simple Steps. Lasting Results.

1. Remove dust with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
2. For a small spot, lightly dampen the cloth with clean water. Blot gently—do not soak or scrub.
3. Let the leather air-dry completely at room temperature, away from sunlight and direct heat.
4. If the surface still feels dry, apply a very small amount of neutral conditioner made for full-grain leather.
5. Test every product on a hidden area first. Conditioning may deepen the color.

MADE TO AGE

Patina Is Part of the Story.

Full-grain leather is not meant to stay perfectly uniform. Handling, light, and everyday use gradually change its color and feel. Those changes are part of what makes your piece personal.

Care should protect the leather—not erase every sign that it has been used.
